OBJECTIVE |

Its objects are |

| a. |
To facilitate exchange of information and data on healthcare quality principles and practices e.g. through workshops and publications |
| b. |
To formulate recommendations, guidelines or standards by consensus working groups. |
| c. |
To promote the education of all healthcare quality professionals both within medical institutions and in the community. |
| d. |
To foster research in healthcare quality |

MEMBERSHIP QUALIFICATION AND RIGHTS |

| 2. |
Membership is open to Singapore Citizens and Singapore Permanent Residents and Non Residents |
| |
| a. |
There shall be four categories of memberships. They are as follows: |
| |
| i. |
Ordinary Members
Ordinary members are practicing healthcare quality professionals or any person interested/involved in healthcare quality. Ordinary Members must be Singapore Citizens or Singapore Permanent Residents. They have the right to vote and the right to hold office in the Society. |
| ii. |
Corporate Members
Corporate members shall be pharmaceutical firms, businesses, business organizations and other registered bodies related to healthcare quality. A representative nominated by the organization shall represent each corporate member. Corporate members have no right to vote nor the right to hold office in the Society. The representative shall do both on behalf of the Corporate Member. |

Honorary Membership
Honorary members shall be chosen by simple majority vote of the Executive Committee. They shall be chosen based on their eminence in the particular field of healthcare quality or the wider fields of medical practice, research or education. Honorary Members shall not have the right to vote or to hold office in the Society. |
| iv. |
Associate Membership
Associate members shall be Non-Residents and shall have neither the right to vote nor the right to hold office in the Society. |

| b. |
Persons who are below 18 years of age shall not be accepted as members without written consent of their parent or guardian. |
| c. |
Only members who are above 18 years of age shall have the right to vote and to hold office in the Society. |

APPLICATION FOR MEMBERSHIP |

| 3. |
A person wishing to join the Society should submit his particulars to the Secretary on a prescribed form. |
| |
| a. |
The committee will decide on the application for membership. |
| b. |
A copy of the Constitution shall be provided to every approved member upon payment of the entrance fee. |

ENTRANCE FEES, SUBSCRIPTIONS AND OTHER DUES |

| 4. |
The entrance fee is payable within two weeks of election to membership in default of which membership may be cancelled by order of the committee |
| |
| a. |
The General Meeting on recommendation from the Committee from time to time shall determine the entrance fees and subscriptions. |
| b. |
Entrance fees and subscriptions are payable as follows: |
| |
| i. |
Ordinary and Associate members shall pay an entrance fee and subsequently a subscription of $25 annually or such sum as the general body at its Annual General meeting may from time to time determine. |
| ii. |
Corporate members shall pay an entrance fee of $500 and an annual subscription fees of $100 |
| iii. |
Honorary members shall pay no fees |

| c. |
For retiree memberships, the entrance fee is waived and the annual subscription is reduced by half |
| d. |
Annual subscriptions are payable in advance within the first month of the year. If a member falls into arrears with his subscription or other dues, the Treasurer shall inform him immediately. If he falls into arrears for more than 12 months, he will automatically cease to be a member and the Committee may take legal action against him provided that they are satisfied that he has received due notice of his debts. |

Any additional fund required for special purposes may only be raised from members with the consent of the general meeting of the members. |
